As you can see the developers urge people to try Deepin Alpha 2 in a non-production environment! I must say, though, that I haven’t discovered any “bugs”. And the installed programs won’t “crash” or anything like that. On the contrary ExTiX Deepin 23.4 with the Deepin DE 23 works pretty well I would say. I have nevertheless kept ExTiX 22.12 with Deepin 20.8 on the server. Deepin 20.8 is the stable version released 221208. ExTiX 23.4 uses kernel 6.3.0-rc4-amd64-exton. ExTiX 23.4 works in the same way as all other ExTiX versions. I.e. you can install it to hard drive while running the system live. Use Refracta Installer for that. You can also create your own live installable Deepin 23 system with Refracta Snapshot. (Using ExTiX 23.4 as a “base system”). So easy that a ten year old child can do it!

My special kernel 6.3.0-rc4-amd64-exton corresponding Kernel.org’s kernel 6.3-rc4.
What’s new in Linux kernel 6.3?
Login to Deepin Desktop
Log in from LightDM Login Manager as the ordinary user user with password live. You can’t login to Deepin as root. While logged in as user you can use Sudo to become root. Example commands: sudo su and sudo pcmanfm. The password for root is root.
Wireless connections
Normally NetworkManager works very well in ExTiX Deepin. Just add your network password and connect. If you, however, after a hard drive installation can’t reach the Internet you shall run the command sudo dpkg-reconfigure resolvconf and reboot your computer.
Samba client
You can use Deepin File Manager or PCManFM to connect to your Windows computers in your Home Network. Watch this screenshot.

Hello, I have tried to test ExTix on my PC with the following specifications:
Ryzen 7950X
Asus PROART X670E
32GB DDR5 RAM
Integrated AMD Radeon™ Graphics
However, I am only able to obtain a maximum screen resolution of 640 x 480. I am encountering the same issue with other distros that have a kernel version lower than 6.2.0. I thought that the latest version with kernel version 6.3.0 would not have this problem.
Do you have any ideas for how to solve this issue?
Strange, but you can try my latest ExTiX version released today with kernel 6.3.1.

I am checking out deepin in a Virtualbox.
I am not getting very far. It keeps freezing.
It is nice to see deepin mail installed. Ubuntudde and UAdeepin leave it out!
Is the store the deepin store? It would not load.
Is there another installer besides refracta? It was very slow and I could not understand it. Is there the deepin installer or Calamares?

You are not supposed to run Deepin in VirtualBox, but ExTiX 23.4 works alright in VirtualBox on my computers. Give it enough RAM!
Only Refracta Installer is installed. Not so difficult to understand. I think.

– ok noted. Thanks. I find it useful to try distros in a vm before going committing to an installation. After booting back in it was a lot more responsive.
I gave it about 4gb of ram. Perhaps more is required?
Refracta – Unfortunately I am not at all comfortable with manually partitioning a drive. I do not fully understand it and am concerned of messing up this all important base. I am sometimes stupid with things that others find not so difficult. 🤕

I believe your download link to be deeply incorrect (pun intended). The SourceForge download button leads to the LXQT version, which offers no Deepin Desktop. On top of that, sadly enough the SourceForge servers at times slow down so much that a 3 Gig download takes several hours to complete.
Any chance you could drop these images onto the Swedish Linux Society’s server?
